The International Association of Infant Food Manufacturers and its member companies embrace a common purpose: to protect and promote the health of infants and children. IFM member companies conduct extensive research to develop products that satisfy the nutritional needs of infants and young children, including those with health problems requiring special dietary attention.
IFM members include both national and international companies that manufacture and market their products in all parts of the world. The organisation has operations in the USA, Canada, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Latin America and Asia.

A World Health Assembly satellite roundtable discussion on "Nutrition Public Policies: Redefining the Architecture of the Future" was sponsored and organized by IFM and hosted by the Secretary of Health of Mexico, Dr José Angel Cordova Villalobos. The successful event took place on May 14 in a restaurant close to the Palais des Nations. The program was chaired by Dr. Chok-wan Chan, President-Elect of the International Pediatric Association and attracted more than 50 government representatives from over 30 countries.
